Our Journey

Our Establishment

Transmasculine Philippines (TmPH) was formed on April 20, 2020. Originally called FTM Philippines, it began as an online space for transgender Filipinos to connect and socialize despite the lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It quickly grew into a large community, prompting Founder and Executive Director Matt Alea to create a core team of community leaders who shared his passion for transgender rights. Together, they transformed what started as a safe space into a full-fledged community-based organization (CBO).

Why "Transmasculine PH?"

During its inception, TmPH's core team aimed to create an all-inclusive community that welcomed all transmasculine identities. The organization empowers not only binary transgender men but also transmasculine non-binary individuals.

The term "transmasculine" encapsulates the diversity within the community and communicates that it welcomes even those who do not subscribe to traditional ideas of masculinity.

Our Goals

We aim to strengthen our community through capacity building activities such as educational workshops and focus group discussions.

We aim to create and disseminate helpful resources that will positively impact the overall well-being of transmasculine Filipinos.

We aim to continue fighting for the rights of our community by supporting the political movements that will forward equality, equity, and freedom for transmasculine Filipinos.
